Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and PACEPOT LTD (“PacePot”, “we”, “us”), the company that runs the PacePot app and playpacepot.com. By creating an account or using PacePot, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
The short version
- You must be 18 or older.
- Joining a pot is final.
- Hit your steps every day. Miss a day and you're out, and your entry stays in the pot.
- Everyone who finishes shares the pot. If nobody finishes, PacePot keeps it.
- Every fee shows before you pay.
- No cheating. We check steps and can cancel results.
This summary helps you read the terms. It doesn't replace them.
01What PacePot is
PacePot runs walking challenges called pots. Each pot has a daily step goal, a number of days, an entry amount in naira and a start date.
You pay the entry when you join. To finish, you hit the daily goal on every day of the pot. Everyone who finishes shares the pot.
Only steps decide who finishes. There is no draw and no odds, and PacePot never walks in a pot.
02Who can use PacePot
- You must be 18 or older. You confirm this when you sign up.
- You sign in with your own Google account, or your Apple account on iPhone.
- PacePot is built for Nigeria. All money is in naira, days run on Nigerian time, and withdrawals go to Nigerian bank accounts.
- The details you give us must be true.
We don't ask for your BVN or NIN. If the law or a fraud review ever requires an identity check, we'll tell you in the app before we ask.
03Your account
- Keep your Google or Apple account and your phone secure. What happens on your PacePot account is your responsibility.
- Your 4-digit wallet PIN protects withdrawals. After 5 wrong tries, withdrawals lock for 30 minutes. Don't share your PIN with anyone, including people who say they work for PacePot.
- One phone reports your steps. Moving to a new phone signs you out on the old one, and you can't switch phones during a pot that has started.
- Don't choose a username that's offensive or pretends to be someone else. We can change or remove it.
- If you think someone else got into your account, email admin@playpacepot.com straight away.
04Paying and withdrawing
Your PacePot wallet holds your payouts and refunds. It isn't a bank account, doesn't earn interest, and can hold up to ₦5,000,000.
- Paying for a pot. If your wallet covers the full price, it pays. If it doesn't, you pay the full price by card or bank transfer through our payment partner, Monnify. You enter card or transfer details on Monnify's own payment page. The processing fee shows before you pay.
- Withdrawing. You can withdraw from ₦5,000 up to ₦5,000,000 at a time to the Nigerian bank account you save in the app. We show the account name from the bank before you confirm. Check it carefully: we can't always recover money sent to an account you entered by mistake.
- Withdrawals need your wallet PIN. Banks or our payment partner can delay them, and we may hold one while we check for fraud or errors. If a transfer fails, the money goes back to your wallet.
- If money reaches your wallet by mistake, we can reverse it.
- If you reverse a card payment you made to PacePot, we can take the same amount back from your wallet and limit your account while we look into it.
05How pots work
- Before you join, every pot shows its daily goal, number of days, entry, start date, who can join and every fee.
- You can only join before a pot starts. You can be in one pot at a time, and you can't rejoin a pot you've left.
- Your entry is taken when you join, and all of it goes into the pot. Joining is final.
- Days run on Nigerian time (WAT), from midnight to midnight. Steps that sync within 12 hours after midnight still count for the day before.
- Miss a day and you're out of that pot. A day counts as missed if your steps were under the goal or didn't sync in time. Your entry stays in the pot.
- You can quit a pot at any time. You're out straight away, and your entry stays in the pot.
- When the pot ends, everyone who hit the goal on every day shares the pot equally, down to the kobo. Any kobo left over from the split goes to PacePot. Payouts reach wallets shortly after the last day's 12-hour sync window closes.
- If nobody finishes, the pot goes to PacePot.
A daily goal is between 5,000 and 50,000 steps, a pot lasts 5 to 180 days, and an entry is at most ₦500,000. The app shows the limits when you create a pot.
06Fees
Every fee shows in the app before you pay. We may change fees, but a change never applies to a pot you've already joined.
07Cancellations and refunds
- Joining is final. We don't refund missed days or quitting.
- A pot's creator can cancel it before it starts, but only while nobody else has joined. The entry, the publishing fee, a sponsor's pot and service fee, and any promo credit go back. The join fee doesn't.
- We can cancel a pot we created, for example after a technical fault. Everyone's entry, join fee and promo credit go back to their wallets, and returned promo credit gets at least 14 more days before it expires.
- The card or transfer processing fee is never refunded.
08Steps and fair play
Steps come from Health Connect on Android or Apple Health on iPhone, with your permission. They sync while PacePot is open, so open the app every day. The steps we record for you are the ones that count. We're not responsible for steps your phone didn't record or sync in time.
These aren't allowed:
- Shakers, swinging or strapping your phone to something, or any device that fakes steps.
- Step-faking apps, emulators, or adding or editing steps by hand in a health app.
- Someone else walking with your phone.
- Using extra accounts to collect more bonuses or to take more than one place in a pot.
- Working with others to rig a pot, or using PacePot to move money between people.
We reject step reports that look impossible and check step data for patterns that don't look like walking. We can review any result, ask you for proof, cancel steps or entries, hold payouts and suspend accounts involved. If we cancel your result for cheating, your entry stays in the pot.
09Invites, bonuses and promo credit
- When a friend signs up with your invite code and pays for their first pot within 30 days, you both get promo credit, currently ₦1,000 each. Your friend must enter the code within 7 days of signing up and before their first paid pot.
- You can earn up to 10 invite bonuses a month while the monthly budget lasts. The app shows the current amounts and limits.
- Promo credit pays entries for public pots only, not fees. It can't be withdrawn and expires after 60 days. Money you win with it is yours to withdraw.
- We can hold a bonus for review, for example when accounts share a phone, and remove bonuses gained by breaking these terms.
10What other people see
People in your pots see your username, avatar, entry, steps, place and prize. Public and sponsored pots can be viewed by anyone. Your pacer profile shows your username, when you joined, your badges and your past pots. People outside a private pot only see its dates and your result. Your rank badge reflects how much you've paid into PacePot overall. The Privacy Policy has the full list.
11Your health and safety
PacePot isn't medical advice. Choose goals that suit your body, and speak to a doctor before a big change in activity. Walk where it's safe, watch the road, and stop if you feel unwell. You're responsible for where and how you walk.
12Closing your account
- You can delete your account in Settings once nothing is left to finish. Without the app, follow the steps at playpacepot.com/delete-account.
- Withdraw your money first. You can't delete your account while it holds money, a withdrawal or payment is still going through, or a pot or anything else on your account hasn't finished. The app shows you what's left.
- Promo credit can't be withdrawn, so it ends when you delete your account.
- If what's left in your wallet is too small to withdraw, it stays behind when you delete your account.
- Deleting can't be undone. Signing in again starts a new account.
- We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or is used for fraud, or when the law requires it. A suspended account can't pay, join or withdraw. If we close an account that hasn't broken the rules, we'll send its balance to the saved bank account.
13Money laundering and the law
Don't use PacePot to hide where money came from or to move money between people. We can report suspicious activity to the authorities, including the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit, and hold funds where the law allows.
14When something goes wrong on our side
We work to keep PacePot running, but it can sometimes be unavailable or slow. If a problem on our side stops steps from counting fairly, we'll put it right, for example by correcting results or by cancelling and refunding the pot.
15Our responsibility to you
We provide PacePot as it is. As far as Nigerian law allows, we're not responsible for indirect losses, lost profits, steps your phone didn't record, or delays caused by banks or our payment partner. Our total responsibility to you is limited to the money we owe you in your wallet plus the fees you paid us in the 12 months before your claim.
Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that the law doesn't allow us to limit, or your rights under Nigerian consumer protection law.
If you break these terms or the law and that leads to a claim against us, you'll cover the loss it causes us.
16Disputes
If you think a result or a payment is wrong, email admin@playpacepot.com within 7 days of the pot's result or the payment. Include your username, the pot's name and any transaction reference. We'll look into it and reply within 14 days.
If we still can't agree, we'll first try mediation in Nigeria. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Nigeria can decide any dispute.
17Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll tell you in the app before an important change takes effect. If you keep using PacePot after that, you accept the new terms. A change never affects a pot you've already joined.
