Terms of Service

Last updated 11 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and PACEPOT LTD (“PacePot”, “we”, “us”), the company that runs the PacePot app and playpacepot.com. By creating an account or using PacePot, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.

The short version

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • Joining a pot is final.
  • Hit your steps every day. Miss a day and you're out, and your entry stays in the pot.
  • Everyone who finishes shares the pot. If nobody finishes, PacePot keeps it.
  • Every fee shows before you pay.
  • No cheating. We check steps and can cancel results.

This summary helps you read the terms. It doesn't replace them.

01What PacePot is

PacePot runs walking challenges called pots. Each pot has a daily step goal, a number of days, an entry amount in naira and a start date.

You pay the entry when you join. To finish, you hit the daily goal on every day of the pot. Everyone who finishes shares the pot.

Only steps decide who finishes. There is no draw and no odds, and PacePot never walks in a pot.

02Who can use PacePot

We don't ask for your BVN or NIN. If the law or a fraud review ever requires an identity check, we'll tell you in the app before we ask.

03Your account

04Paying and withdrawing

Your PacePot wallet holds your payouts and refunds. It isn't a bank account, doesn't earn interest, and can hold up to ₦5,000,000.

05How pots work

Private pots2 to 20 people, joined with an invite link or code. Free to create. The creator pays the entry and walks too.
Public pots by usersAnyone can join. The creator pays ₦2,000 to publish the pot and hosts it without walking. Each person who joins pays a 5% host fee on top of the entry, which goes to the creator when the pot starts.
Sponsored potsA sponsor puts in the pot, at least ₦10,000, and pays a 15% service fee. Free to join, for 2 to 500 people.
PacePot potsPots we create. No host fee.

A daily goal is between 5,000 and 50,000 steps, a pot lasts 5 to 180 days, and an entry is at most ₦500,000. The app shows the limits when you create a pot.

06Fees

Every fee shows in the app before you pay. We may change fees, but a change never applies to a pot you've already joined.

07Cancellations and refunds

08Steps and fair play

Steps come from Health Connect on Android or Apple Health on iPhone, with your permission. They sync while PacePot is open, so open the app every day. The steps we record for you are the ones that count. We're not responsible for steps your phone didn't record or sync in time.

These aren't allowed:

We reject step reports that look impossible and check step data for patterns that don't look like walking. We can review any result, ask you for proof, cancel steps or entries, hold payouts and suspend accounts involved. If we cancel your result for cheating, your entry stays in the pot.

09Invites, bonuses and promo credit

10What other people see

People in your pots see your username, avatar, entry, steps, place and prize. Public and sponsored pots can be viewed by anyone. Your pacer profile shows your username, when you joined, your badges and your past pots. People outside a private pot only see its dates and your result. Your rank badge reflects how much you've paid into PacePot overall. The Privacy Policy has the full list.

11Your health and safety

PacePot isn't medical advice. Choose goals that suit your body, and speak to a doctor before a big change in activity. Walk where it's safe, watch the road, and stop if you feel unwell. You're responsible for where and how you walk.

12Closing your account

13Money laundering and the law

Don't use PacePot to hide where money came from or to move money between people. We can report suspicious activity to the authorities, including the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit, and hold funds where the law allows.

14When something goes wrong on our side

We work to keep PacePot running, but it can sometimes be unavailable or slow. If a problem on our side stops steps from counting fairly, we'll put it right, for example by correcting results or by cancelling and refunding the pot.

15Our responsibility to you

We provide PacePot as it is. As far as Nigerian law allows, we're not responsible for indirect losses, lost profits, steps your phone didn't record, or delays caused by banks or our payment partner. Our total responsibility to you is limited to the money we owe you in your wallet plus the fees you paid us in the 12 months before your claim.

Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that the law doesn't allow us to limit, or your rights under Nigerian consumer protection law.

If you break these terms or the law and that leads to a claim against us, you'll cover the loss it causes us.

16Disputes

If you think a result or a payment is wrong, email admin@playpacepot.com within 7 days of the pot's result or the payment. Include your username, the pot's name and any transaction reference. We'll look into it and reply within 14 days.

If we still can't agree, we'll first try mediation in Nigeria. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Nigeria can decide any dispute.

17Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll tell you in the app before an important change takes effect. If you keep using PacePot after that, you accept the new terms. A change never affects a pot you've already joined.
